Colin's Professional Experience

Established an independent consultancy delivering strategic planning, business cases and business planning, organisational development, community engagement, evaluation and funding strategy for public, third sector and cultural organisations.

Clients have included the Scottish Government, Equality and Human Rights Commission, Creative Scotland, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, local authorities, Citizens Advice organisations, community anchor organisations and national charities.

Provided strategic advice on evaluation design, outcome measurement and project development across a diverse portfolio of cultural programmes.

Commissioned by City Bridge Trust / Trust for London to work on a series of multi-annual funding programmes addressing conflict and crime across London. Roles included supporting funded projects to redesign services to maximise impact, facilitating action learning from project experience and evaluating the success at programme level

Managed a University of Glasgow Community Learning and Development degree programme, combining organisational leadership with teaching, curriculum development and research.

Earlier professional experience included project management, community development and research roles with Clackmannanshire Council, Central Regional Council and third sector organisations 

Former Director, Coalition for Racial Equality and Rights. Supported organisational transformation from a service provider into a nationally recognised policy and research organisation.
